Without Park Geun-hye, Conservatives Cannot Survive

The Liberty Korea Party (LKP) has to find a solution to the issues of President Park Geun-hye. Some may ask why am I raising the issue of President Park Geun-hye now. Given the situation, if the LKP does not find a solution, it will not be able to plan its future at all.
First, the Blue House warned Yoon Seok-ryul, the Prosecutor General, to “be careful.” [The prosecutors are currently investigating Moon Jae-in’s Justice Minister nominee Cho Kuk. For more on the Cho Kuk scandal, see here.] … Moon (Blue House) continues to express his position to continue to promote Cho Kuk for Minister of Justice…Also, Moon’s stance is clear considering GSOMIA, South Korea-U.S. relations…inviting North Korea to the South Korea-ASEAN meeting, and his never ending thirst to satiate North Korea. If you look at everything he [Moon] has done until now, I believe [Moon] will enforce the appointment of Cho Kuk…Then what do we do? The answer is simple. The conservatives have to unify, and in order to unify the conservatives, the LKP has to resolve the issue of President Park Geun-hye. The first step to resolving the issue is to have the 62 [LKP, formerly Hannara Party] lawmakers, who cooperated in the impeachment sincerely apologize.
In review of the Supreme Court’s decision, I was completely dismayed and have reaffirmed that the impeachment was completely flawed. The two essential bases for impeachment were the tablet PC and Sewol Ferry (incident)…. JTBC responded “maybe there was never a need for the tablet PC,” displaying the typical hypocritical portrayal, and remained silent about the fabrication of tablet PC….What kind of false information spread through the tablet PC story? The propaganda of Choi Soon-sil [Choi Seo-won] editing the Dresden speech spread, although the tablet had no [editing] capability, and it was followed by [more fabrications of] Choe conducting shamanistic rituals at the Blue House, Choe controlling Park Geun-hye like a puppet. And using that as a basis, [false accusations of] other unmentionable acts like acquiring Viagra at the Blue House leading to sexual acts–these absurd rumors spread, but no one claimed responsibility. And the tablet PC issues simply disappeared. The National Assembly used the Sewol Ferry incident and the tablet PC to pass the impeachment bill. And those LKP lawmakers who [voted for the impeachment bill] are still around. [The LKP lawmakers who helped with impeachment] have to take responsibility. [The same lawmakers] must apologize.
And what happened to the Sewol Ferry [one of the impeachment charges blaming Park for the incident and loss of lives from the sinking]? Sewol Ferry that was one of the bases for the impeachment bill? In the end, the Constitutional Court decided on “not guilty.” Then we have to ask ourselves: Why did the impeachment bill pass the National Assembly in the first place? It’s because some of the LKP lawmakers cooperated [with the impeachment] for political purposes. It is precisely at this that the conservative supporters are outraged. [The lawmakers who voted for the impeachment] must apologize.
In review of the latest Supreme Court decision, we are able to scrutinize other issues. [This deals with the criminal case that followed the impeachment case, and is separate from the impeachment charges.] The first is the coercion. President Park Geu-hye was found not guilty of coercing Lee Jae-yong to financially support the K-Sports and Mirae Foundation. What is then left is the ‘silent request’ [a new term]; the most incriminating evidence of the ‘silent request’ is the diary of Ahn Jong-bum, which the court decided was not evidence. On what basis, then, can the ‘silent request’ stand? Nothing… Despite the lack of evidence, the Supreme Court acknowledged that there was a ‘silent request’ for a deal in which Lee Jaeyong’s support of three horses helped his succession process. [The lower court ruled that Lee Jae-yong ‘silently requested’ help in his succession at Samsung by lending 3 horses to the equestrian group and equestrians to practice for international competitions. One of the equestrians was Jung Yu-ra, who won a gold medal at the Asian Games. Jung is Choi Seo-won’s daughter. The lower court deemed Choi and Park Geun-hye to be a common entity, although there is no basis for this interpretation. So the lower court found Park “guilty by association” with Choi, who is associated with Jung, from Lee Jae-yong’s “silent request.” It was unclear how lending horses help Lee’s succession at Samsung, even if Lee was able to “silently request.”]…There was a minority opinion of four justices– “if there is no illegal request to begin with, how can silent request be established?” and “if silent request was to be established, why was there no benefit gained by President Park Geun-hye?” However, the Supreme Court did not properly reflect the minority opinion.
President Park Geun-hye had to attend trial four times a week during the impeachment [which is unconscionable]…How can one individual be asked to go through trial four times a week? No one raised any issues then. I personally cannot understand the abuse of authority charge against President Park Geun-hye. What is abuse of authority? It’s what Ahn Min-yong has done. If one is not authorized to do something, but does, that is abuse of authority. But President Park Geun-hye…as the president, had a [broad scope of responsibility and authority] for the country. How can there be “abuse of authority” [when she was carrying out her duties as the president]?
How about [President Kim Dae-jung’s] illegal transmittal of funds to North Korea? No one called that abuse of authority. There was no impeachment then. But they say there was abuse of authority by President Park Geun-hye? I cannot agree with that. I also cannot personally agree to the allegation that the three horses helped in the succession process of Lee Jae-yong. I do not even understand the phrase ‘silent request.’ If in fact the three horses helped the succession process of Lee Jae-yong through the’ silent request,’ what enterprises in the future would be able to provide support to the government culturally, to include K-pop, sports etc.? If enterprises can be incriminated for bribery for supporting cultural events, K-pop, sports, then what enterprises could survive after the Moon administration is over? [Enterprises supporting sports and culture continue in the Moon administration]. I conclude, therefore, that the trials [both the impeachment and criminal cases] that took place over President Park Geun-hye was people’s trials, and that such people’s trials were able to take place due to the LKP lawmakers who cooperated, and yet they still remain as lawmakers. The conservatives must unite. Without unity, we cannot stop the Moon regime, and the start of unity is with the sincere apologies from the 62 lawmakers, who participated in the impeachment. Representative Hwang Kyo-ah, I earnestly request that you reprimand the 62 national assemblymen/assemblywomen involved in President Park Geun-hye’s impeachment!
