“China and Korea live in the neighborhood, and are good brothers and partners,” said Wen. “Since diplomatic relations in 1992, the two countries have been steadily developing,” he said.

In June 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in to explore the roadmap of bilateral relations with a wider perspective and to develop friendly and cooperative relations to create China-led “New Silk Road” Strategic Initiatives–inland and offshore new Silk Road economic belts called “One Belt One Road.”  They have agreed to strive for peace, stability and prosperity in the two countries by strengthening mutual cooperation within the framework of One Belt One Road (Belt and Road).
