Chinese Fishing Vessels’ Giant Trawl Nets, Twice the Length of the 63 Building, Discovered in the Seas near Jeju Island

The South Korean Coast Guard continued to discover and destroy gigantic trawl nets placed illegally by Chinese fishing vessels [in the waters near Jeju Island].
The fish and shellfish that the Coast Guard found amounted to 3,000 kg. The illegal catches caught in the trawls were released into our seas. [Truncated]
The trawl nets were 300-500 m (984-1,640 ft) long, so they are huge, and the mesh is only 2 cm (0.79 inches), so the fish cannot slip through.
The trawls, after releasing the fish, weigh 5 tons [each]; the heavy weight prevents the collection of the nets, so they sink to the seabed. [Truncated]
